Luzhniki Big Sports Arena was the place to see first ever derby of two Spanish coaches, Josep Clotet host Guillermo Abascal Both Spaniards had some things to remember about this match. Spartak got three penalties in the first half and scored only one. Keita Balde hit the bar from the spot, but three minutes later he scored from the play to extend goal streak to three official matches. Ruslan Litvinov was second choice for penalty shot, and he was stopped by Egor Baburin, only Roman Zobnin was successful, when he took the shot in the final minutes of first half.
Just moments after Spartak was awarded with third penalty, Josep Clotet was sent off, and he was managing the team through second half from the stands. Spartak had been keeping two-goal lead, but they finished the match with nine players, as Litvinov and Christopher Martins Pereira left the pitch due to second yellow cards. With two-man advantage Torpedo beat Aleksandr Selikhov through Ilya Stefanovich header, and the Black-Whites stood moments away from stealing the point.
Spartak go third with 45 points, Torpedo still bottom on 13 points.
