Mikhail Galaktionov before joining Lokomotiv was successful with Pari NN in matches against CSKA stealing four points in two matches before winter break. The Armymen, won five last games, made confident step to extend the streak; Anton Zabolotny finished the cross from Ivan Oblyakov scoring in the second straight match. Oblyakov added troubles for the guests forcing Mario Mitaj to make holding, and the defender was sent off just after 20 minutes of play with second yellow card (he substituted Sergey Pinyaev due to injury).

CSKA finished the match with big advantage on shots, 27 in total and 11 on target, but Ilya Lantratov stood firm. Lokomotiv made the only attempts in the final minutes. Konstantin Maradishvili could not beat former mate Igor Akinfeev from distance, but then came Wilson Isidor, who won the rebound in the keepers area to equalize. Frenchmen played first game since November derby against Spartak, where he also scored in the end, and saved a point for Lokomotiv.

CSKA still fourth with 45 points, while Lokomotiv go tenth on 29 points.
