On 30 January, four RPL representatives played in Asian Cup, Africa Cup of Nations and Pre-Olympic Tournament matches.

Uzbekistan 2-1 Thailand

Both Rustam Ashurmatov from Rubin and Abbos Fayzullaev from CSKA appeared in starting 11 of Uzbekistan, and while Ashurmatov spent all 90 minutes on the pitch, Fayzullaev was replaced in the added time of the second half. By the way, Fayzullaev took part in both goals; he passed to Diyor Kholmatov, who assisted Azizbek Turgunboev for the first goal, then Abbos scored himself, and his goal became the winner.

Last time Uzbekistan played in the Asian Cup quarterfinals was 2015, and on 3 February they will face competition hosts Qatar.

Mali 2-1 Burkina Faso

Akhmat forward Mohamed Konate returned to the squad after being suspended for two yellow cards. Player helped Burkina Faso to score; after his shot the ball flew into opponent arm, so Mali was punished with penalty, and Bertrand Traore cut Mali lead to one goal. It was not enough for the Stallions, and the team was eliminated from the tournament.

Two RPL players remain in Africa Cup playoffs, these are Theo Bongonda from Spartak (DR Congo) and Kevin Lenini from Krasnodar (Cape Verde).

CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament

Uruguay U-23 3-0 Peru U-23

Dynamo defender Nicolas Marichal wore the captain armband for the full match, and the Uruguayans captured first points at the tournament. Nevertheless, after Argentina beat Chile 5-0 La Celeste lost chances to make top-2 finish, which would lead to next stage of the qualification. Before the final match Uruguay are four points behind Argentina and Paraguay; the Argentinians will be La Celeste opponents in the fixture on 2 February.

Whom to follow on 31 January

Two Round of 16 matches remained at Asian Cup, and Iran alongside Rostov midfielder Mohammad Mohebi will play against Syria, who registered CSKA youth system keeper Maksim Sarraf for the tournament.
