Roman Shirokov deserves being considered as one of the leading players of Russia. In December 2012 he was approved as the Best Player of the Year as per the opinion of the coaches of Premier League, and in January 2013 - the Player of the Year as per weekly edition FUTBOL. In the following season the player repeated both achievements.
