— On this day, on May 25th, 90 years ago in Leingrad a team was formed without which today we couldn’t imagine domestic football. «Zenit» is an entire epoch in the life of the city filling millions of fans with emotions and memories. 

«Zenit» has always been exceptionally important for its native city, Leningrad-St. Petersburg, both in bright and dark times — together we have overcome everything. Even during the Great Patriotic War «Zenit» and the hero city were inseparable with one another. In 1944, when the rebirth after the blockade was just getting underway, «Zenit» celebrated a victory in the Russian Cup — the team was able to win its first title because the fervent support of the fans was always felt. 

It’s symbolic that during this jubilee year we reached the goal that we have been long striving towards. Our club has three trophies in its collection that were won during the Soviet Union and Russian Football days.  «Zenit» is the only domestic club that has been able to win two European Cups. 

Today, I sincerely congratulate everyone who defended our colours, all the trainers that worked for the good of «Zenit», all of the club’s staff and all of the fans who have supported us throughout the years.
