On 24 June, Russian Cup RPL Path Group Stage draw took place at Match TV channel studio.
16 RPL clubs were seeded into four pots according to final standings of 2022/23 season. Khimki and Torpedo, relegated to First League, were replaced by promoted Rubin and Baltika.
Group A: CSKA Moscow, FC Orenburg, FC Sochi, Fakel Voronezh
Group B: FC Rostov, Lokomotiv Moscow, Ural Ekaterinburg, Rubin Kazan
Group C: Zenit St. Petersburg, Akhmat Grozny, Krylia Sovetov Samara, Baltika Kaliningrad
Group D: Spartak Moscow, FC Krasnodar, Dynamo Moscow, FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod
Two best sides of each group will qualify to RPL Path play-offs. Third-placed teams will move to Regions Path play-offs. Last-placed clubs will be eliminated from the tournament.
As it was in 2022/23 season, Russian Cup will have two brackets named RPL Path (top bracket) and Regions Path (bottom bracket). Double elimination system will be used in RPL Path: teams beaten in play-offs will be dropped to the same stage of Regions Path. The only difference in the new season is that eliminated side from RPL Path finals will leave the tournament, so the Regions Path finals will include one stage.
The current Cup holders are CSKA Moscow.
